I love my laptop, and mine is decently powerful... However, its battery sucks.
Like, I can get maybe one hour of use before it needs a recharge. It is pretty new too; its battery is just like that.
I mean, it does charge quickly. Probably 20 min charge time. Still not great.
My previous laptop was an old thinkpad that I had lubuntu running on it. Its battery worked for 10+ hrs. I kinda miss it. Screen got borked pretty bad tho.
I wonder if loading up a lightweight linux distro would impact the battery life? Windows has a lot of bloat; surely freeing up some of those resources I could squeeze some more use out of it.
My only problem with that is that it has a nvidia gpu, and nvidia drivers are proprietary, meaning that if nvidia stops supporting linux, the community probably wont be able to pick it back up.
